IRU International Resources Unlimited was established in 1989 as a language and translation service. The owner of the company, Elke Krause, has been professionally involved in language and translation services for over 20 years and worked with several well-established language services in the Houston area before establishing IRU.

The goal of IRU is to offer full language services for all languages, including translations, interpretations, teaching, cross-cultural seminars, and chaperon services for newcomers to the Houston area.

IRU is registered with the American Translators Association (ATA) and the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), and is a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) and the Greater Houston Partnership.

IRU's office is located in central Houston, Texas and serves not only the Greater Houston area but also offers its language services to Baytown, Clear Lake, Orange, and Freeport, Texas.

IRU's instructors and staff serve executive transferees and their families from Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world by assisting them not only in improving their English skills, but also in adjusting to life in the United States. IRU's training program provides students with a cultural awareness and understanding resulting in improved work relationships between local and foreign employees and management.

IRU has also prepared many American executives, business travelers, and their families for overseas assignments by teaching them a new language as well as making them aware of cultural differences in business and everyday life abroad.
